Belarus to construct three mixed fertilisers plants in 2013
Belarus will start the construction of three plants to produce mixed fertilisers in June 2013.
Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich told the media that he visited the construction site of a plant which will produce mixed fertilisers in Soligorsk.
According to the Premier, it will be plants with the annual capacity of 240,000 tonnes of fertilisers each. Their construction is due to start in June 2013. The plants will be put into operation by the end of 2014. Mikhail Myasnikovich said that the country would produce about one million tonnes of mixed fertilisers a year. The Belarusian head of government believes that this volume will be enough for the country to satisfy its domestic needs and export the product. "It means higher prices, new markets. I believe it is the most important thing. We should take our projects onto a new platform in order to introduce new capacities. Thus, the country will be able to increase its export potential," the Prime Minister said.
According to the Premier, the situation at the market of potash fertilisers remains complicated. China and India are no longer those premium markets they used to be in 2011. "I think we will work on the volume of the exports. We are currently working on the issue with the Belarusian Potash Company," Mikhail Myasnikovich said.
